An Explanation of Electric Guitars

Despite the downfalls of owning larger guitars, they are known for having better sound and sustain, ideal for recording or playing while sitting down. Larger guitars can also carry two different necks on one single body, ideal for a guitarist who is playing a song that contains two different tunings, that of which could be played on either neck without the hassle of switching guitars in the middle of a performance. Guitar necks vary in general lengths. ". Guitar neck lengths are also another aspect of size. Necks vary in three general lengths: standard, 24 fret, and baritone. Most guitars used in today's modern music are standard guitars with 22 frets. Jazz artists are more likely to use 24 fret guitars because there are more frets, allowing for a larger selection of notes and octaves. Baritone guitars are used when wanting to play with larger strings and dropped tunings, that otherwise would not work properly with any standard guitar. Baritone guitars have 22 frets.
The third aspect of an electric guitar is its structure. Each guitar model typically has different knobs, switches and tuners. Structures of electric guitars are as follows: solid body, hollow body and semi-hollow body. A solid body is an electric guitar that is solid wood, with no holes or openings, good for bands using distortion and rarely using clean channels. A hollow body is an electric guitar that is hollowed out in the center (similar to an acoustic guitar), ideal for bands using less distortion and more clean channels. A hollow body guitar's sound is known for its uncanny resemblance to a non-electric acoustic guitar. A semi-hollow body is an electric guitar that is hollow in only a few areas of the body. Semi-hollow guitars are generally for looks and are not used for any particular sound. Hollow electric guitars are less popular among bands today, while the solid body is the guitar of choice.
The fourth aspect of an electric guitar is its color.
