Being responsible


S. Navy submarine accidentally rammed a boat, resulting in the death of 9 people. Although the accident was a result of some submarine crew-members errors, the commander of the sub took full responsibility for the accident. He could have blamed others, but he had the character to say that he was in charge of the submarine and thus was responsible for what happened. People who are irresponsible often go against the rules--often by impulse--without thinking are caring of the possible consequences and really making your NCO's look like they are not doing their job. A person who has a reputation of being responsible is trusted to do things on his or her own, without supervision. Being trusted that way will make everybody trust you with more responsible tasks. A soldier who is trusted can soon get jobs of greater responsibility, which will then lead to a promotion. The U.S. Army has a reputation of being responsible and the best which helps it gain new recruits and people.A person with a reputation of being responsible is trusted to take on difficult tasks. He or she willnot blame others for any problems. Instead, the person will take full responsibility. With the risk comes the possible promotions at work.A person who has a reputation of being honest, reliable and responsible will be trusted by other people. That reputation can easily be messed up, such that others consider you untrustworthy. Being considered trustworthy provides benefits from the way people deal with you, as well as the way you feel about yourself. If you are trustworthy and believe in yourself the you have more confidence which will make you a more profficient worker and better at accomplishing tasks at hand. As I realize that I have made bad decisions in the past I want to turn that around and make a different person of myself. I know also that I have not always made the best decisions in the past, and also not made the best decisions with the people I hang around also.
