The supplies you will need for this project are: a drill with a skinny drill bit, nails with slightly larger width than the bit, doorframe wood, saw, and miter. The first step is to measure the height of the doorframe. If you plan on adding carpet later, subtract a fourth of an inch from the height. Then, mark your measurements on the wood. Next, you cut a 45-degree angle from one of the marks you just made towards the outside of the marks using the miter as a guide. You then cut a 90-degree angle from the other mark using the miter as a guide. Then you set up the board on the left of the frame with the angled cut pointing outward. Put the inside of the angle right on the corner of the frame. Drill pilot holes with the small drill bit every 16 inches down, starting at one inch from the top in the middle. Drive a nail into each pilot hole but not flush to the wood. To do the right side of the frame, repeat this, but have the angled cut face the opposite direction. Now for the top frame piece. First, measure the inside of the doorframe and mark your measurements. Then, cut 45-degree angles outward on the wood from your measurements on each side using the miter as a guide. Hold the frame piece on the top of the doorframe and drill pilot holes every 12 inches horizontally. Drive a nail into each pilot hole, not flush as before. When all the doorframes are in place, drive the nails flush with the wood gently so as not to damage the frame. Now you are finished!.
