The Banking systems have been considering an ATM implant. In 2003 Applied Digital Solutions introduced the implanted ATM Card to the banking industry. The card would be surgically implanted by local anesthetic which embeds a 12 by 2.1 mm radio frequency identification device tag in the flesh of the human arm. Not only has the chip been introduced to the banking industry but this year the verichip was introduced at the ID World conference in Paris.(www.msnbc.com) This particular implant can be taken out by a local physician at any time. Not only have MasterCard used the RFID but EXXON, Kroger, CVS and other retail vendors.
