There were bodies on the ground around it that looked to Ragsdale like "midgets." According to "McKenzie" there were five bodies, two outside the craft and three inside. The two outside and the two he could see inside, through a gash in the side of the craft, were dead. The fifth was deeper in the craft and could not be seen, and may have been recovered alive. They were "little men" with big heads. In this version Brazel's visit to town, and Marcel's visit to the debris field, takes place after the object with the bodies is discovered.
Meanwhile, back at Foster Ranch, located about 75 miles northwest of Roswell William W. Brazel, or "Mac", had found parts of scattered debris of an object that had crashed approximately seven miles away from his ranch house in June 1947 (Kurland, Michael). Mac described the scattered debris as being composed of "rubber strips, tinfoil, a rather tough paper, and sticks." After a few nights past, Mac and his wife went into the town nearby, Corona, to check if anybody was aware of where the debris they had collected earlier came from. Locals suggested that it was merely crashed weather balloons, however, Mac had seen some wrecked weather balloons before on his property, but this was different. Ten days past after Mac's first sighting of the debris in the field, and on 24 June 1947, Kenneth Arnold reported seeing skipping saucers in the sky, more or less flying, over the Cascade Mountains in the air! When Mac caught wind of this report, he thought that he might have some of the debris from the flying saucer. Sheriff George Wilcox was soon alerted of this debris scattered in Mac's field on 7 July (Kurland, Michael). .
The media was soon notified of the flying saucer the headlines for the paper read, "RAAF Captures Flying Saucer on Ranch in Roswell Region," the very next day (The Roswell Report). Sheriff Wilcox did not only contact the media, but also a nearby Army Field.
