Is religion an invention of man?

In addition, man must have some form of power greater than his artificial gods must. By means of ritual or magic man must be able to feel that he can force, persuade, or charm his gods into doing his request. After all man must have a process in which he can quiet down his "pretend" gods and "achieve" his way to life after death. It is tremendously important for man to acknowledge his "pretend god" because man must be able to claim that he "earned" his prize. For that reason man is self-satisfied, nature would require such recognition. (1) Sigmund Freud said that man invented religion because he feared nature. He also said, "God is the invention of man's wish for immorality. Man, because he fears, invented the idea of an all-powerful protector. God is man's wish for someone bigger than himself, who will satisfy his own sense of justice."(2) When we study religion, we see the truth in Freud's declaration. Religions were made-up for security and enclosed with superstition. .
We live in a cause-effect setting. Everything that has a cause has an effect. As we keep following effects back to their causes, we believe that there had to be a first cause. God is the first cause. Personality is a distant creation, under the right situation, creates creatures with bones, eyes, skin, and a heart. How could a distant creation give us the capacity to feel love, or hate? The creator must have personality, for a creation to have personality. God is this personality. (3) Initially, everybody functions under the belief that a moral law exists. A bright individual had to create this world.
