After High School...

Struggling to pay bills, searching for spare change to buy food, and never having enough money for anything are a common trait of countless college students. Many of them now wish they had been able to save up more money before entering college or even had taken a year off for numerous reasons. These students are now forced to live with their decisions or the decisions made for them by others of heading straight to college from high school. Before entering college, high school students should work at least one year to better prepare themselves for the countless challenges involved with growing up by improving their financial status, exploring educational options, and taking a breather from educational hassles.
First of all, high school students should take a year off before entering college to better prepare themselves for the various challenges associated with growing up and adulthood. Many students upon graduating from high school have never experienced the demands of adulthood from living on their own, paying their own bills, or earning their own money. Then when they enter college, they are not only faced with those several factors, but they also are faced with the transition of high school life to college life. Some students thrive in such situations, while others become overwhelmed, lost, and wind up losing their focus. However, students who take a year off before entering college are able to improve their financial situations. Because they do not have any educational conflicts, they are able to obtain better paying jobs or internships. Not only may the students use the money earned from their jobs to help pay college expenses, they are also capable of paying a variety of other types of expenses. Possessing a job and obtaining valuable work experience allows students to become more independent and more likely to succeed in the challenges they tackle.
Even with working during their year off, students will have more opportunities to explore education options.
