An Appeal to Danforth

I"m here to prove that my wife isn't a witch. Danforth, that all of the "so called" witches are lying? I"m not denying the existence of witches, I"m only stating that my wife, Elizabeth cannot be one. She is an honest upright woman, who if she lied, she"d only do it to protect my name. According to law, witches are incapable of reciting the Ten Commandments. Test her, she will prevail. Also, even if you truly desired to hang her, she is with child so you can't, for it is unlawful. Furthermore, Reverend Hale, an expert on witchcraft and witch hunting is convinced that she cannot be a witch. I entreat you Mr. Danforth reconsider your judgement.
For example, witches would not be able to recite the Ten Commandments; she has when Cheever asked her. Concerning the poppet found in our house, Mary Warren made it for her. Abigail saw that Mary had made this thing and gave it to us, so she turned it into a wicked thing. She realized that she could accuse my wife of witchcraft by stabbing herself with a pin and thus framing Elizabeth. There is no concrete evidence against her. It's that whore's word against Mary Warren, my wife's, and Myself. Elizabeth has never been brought to court before, so why someone so upright, and Godly as my wife ever want to tarnish her name in such a way. Frankly it's inconceivable, hard to believe that a knowledgeable learned man like you could be swayed so easily Mr. Danforth. .
Let's go back to when this whole endeavor started. One night Reverend Parris claimed he found the girls dancing in the woods naked, which is not only immoral its unlawful. Has it ever occurred to you that these girls are just blaming others so that the attention is pulled off them? Moreover that the people that would be malcontented and disgusted with them are so with others? Don't you see? They"re saving themselves from the repercussions of their sins. Sarah Good has never harmed a soul, verbatim can be said of Rebecca Nurse.
