Beer! People think that beer can help a person become more social and that it can give you more courage to do things. The courage juice sort of say. What kind of images do companies use to sell these products?.
I was going through many magazines to look for an advertisement. I went from health magazines to cars magazines and even to men's magazines. Believe me when I say this, 50 to 60 percent of any magazine you read consist of advertisements. One advertisement that caught my eyes is a beer advertisement from the latest issue of a men's magazine called "Maxim". "Maxim" is a popular men's magazine because of its sexy images and articles that men usually are interested in reading and looking at. Women also read this magazine to find out what men are all about. Like what they think, what they like, dislike and what makes men, men. .
The first thing I"d notice about this advertisement was this beautiful and sexy woman, dressed in a bikini. Then I notice an up close image of a beer bottle, which was for Miller Genuine Draft. The bottle is covering a guy, who is indeed holding the hand of the woman that I spoke of earlier. As strange as it might be in my mind, I had the urge to find out what this were about. So I looked for the slogan. "Cold-filter what you don't need. Keeps what's good" was the words that I saw. Then I had figured out how the images connected with the slogan. Basically take out all the images that you don't want to see and keep what you really want. And the advertisement show just that; a sexy lady, holding hands and talking to this other guy, while there is another guy holding an up close view of a beer bottle that is covering the guy. So all you have left is a good view of the woman. This is in a guy's point of view. It can be vice versa with the opposite sex also. That's one way of selling the product; by using slogans that people can relate to in their life or in the society that there are living in.
