Get ready for another galactic slugfest in this heated motion picture sequel to the box office hit "Predator". While "Predator II" doesn't star everyone's favorite Austrian Mr. Universe, this time around, the star that takes on the evil and unbeatable hunter is Danny Glover, playing an L.A.P.D cop in the middle of a heated drug war between the Jamaicans and the Columbians, in 1997 Los Angeles. .
The movie begins in a gunfight between the L.A.P.D and the Columbians, with two officers wounded in the middle of the fire, seemingly unreachable. Danny Glover then arrives on the scene as a Lieutenant Mike Harrigan, and pulls off some pretty unorthodox methods to save the downed cops. The Columbians, outmatched by Glover, run back inside their hideout. Glover and his team follows them in, only to find the entire gang slaughtered, and some hung upside down, strung to the ceiling with body limbs detached. The only way this will seem familiar to you, is if you've seen the original "Predator". As someone once said, "The Boy is back in town.".
Throughout the movie, the Predator is shown many times, unlike the first movie. However, this is a much newer, younger Predator than before. With a new array of space-like weapons and the young reflexes that give its prey ultimately no chance, this galactic hunter kills all whom it hunts. It manages, during the course of the movie, to kill two of Danny Glover's partners, but spares his third. It is in this movie that we learn about the Predator's "Code of Honor". He spared the third, because it was a pregnant woman. Apparently, Predator's cannot hunt or harm pregnant beings, children or unarmed individuals. This gives the viewers an idea why it attacked a commando team in the first movie.
The movie comes down to a climatic, city spanning battle between the Predator and Danny Glover, in which Glover effectively stops the Predator from using its self destruct device, and manages to kill the creature with one of its own weapons, inside its ship.
