Imagine this your just minutes away from winning a million dollars but first you have to eat a whole bowl of worms.
Reality television is getting worse but if you think eating a bowl of worms is bad I guess drinking ostrich eggs and swimming through fish guts wouldn't be up your alley either. How about lying in a tank of snakes or leaches No? Well just in case you change your mind you can check these stunts out on Fear Factor.
Even if you had to lie in a tank of leaches wouldn't you do it for 50 grand I know I would.
But Fear Factor is not the only reality TV show it just probably goes the most extreme. .
There are other shows like Big Brother. Big Brother is a show where people try to win 500 000 dollars or half a million. 13 strangers meet in a house where they compete for 3 months. This may sounds pretty simple but they have to go 3 months without TV or radio or any outside contact and are quite often forced to go on a peanut butter and jelly diet for a whole week (not even pop just water.).
Every week one house guest is evicted by others until 2 are left. Either by now these 2 people are best friends or are at each other's throats. But you"re not in the show so why not just sit back and relax and just watch them fight.
But there are other shows like survivor. In survivor 16 "castaways" are marooned, in the middle of nowhere with very little supplies for 39 days competing for 1 million dollars. During these 39 days they also compete in reward challenges for Doritos, Mountain Dew, blankets, soap, shampoo, and even a vehicle.
In survivor these 16 people are split into 2 tribes, these two tribes compete for an immunity idol. The tribe that wins this idle is safe for 3 more days, the tribe that loses goes to tribal council and votes one of their tribe members out.
When they start to get lower numbers in both tribes they merge. When there are 9 people left each one evicted after that goes on a jury, these 7 jury members then vote for their favorite or who they think is the most deserving for the million dollar prize.
