Global warming seems to be a global problem. "Global warming also known as "green house effect" results mainly from carbon dioxide emissions from burning fossil fuels such as oil and natural gas" (Robbins 1). Destruction of trees and forests is a major cause of global warming. It a surprising fact that "Two-hundred and sixty million acres of US forests has been cleared for crop to produce the meat-centered diet (Robbins 2). The burning of forests also causes extinction of animals and plants. .
             3) The cancer argument against meat-eating: The consumption of meat also has various cancer risks such as breast cancer, fatal ovarian cancer, or fatal prostate cancer. "The risk of contracting breast cancer is 3.8 times greater for women who eat meat daily, compared to less than once a week" (Robbins 2). "The risk of ovarian cancer is three times greater for women and the risk of fatal prostate cancer is 3.6 times greater for men who consume meat".
             4) The cholesterol against meat-eating: Meat-eaters consume excessive amount of cholesterol, making them dangerously vulnerable to heart attacks. Many studies have shown that "Heart attack is the most common cause of death in US killing one person every 45 seconds, and male meat-eaters risk from heart attack is 50 % more" (Robbins 3). The average consumption of cholesterol for meat-centered diet is 210 milligrams per day. The chances of getting heart attack if your cholesterol is 210 are 50 %. .
             5) Natural resource argument against meat-eating: Much of the world's natural resources are being swiftly used up because of meat -eating. Raising livestock is a very insufficient way of producing food, because far more resources are used in producing meat than in producing vegetables or fruits.
