Political learders psychology

Political leaders usually have more responsibilities than we can imagine, and that is why it is essential for them to understand psychology and use it as a tool. The most powerful psychological tool most political leaders use is speeches. Powerful speeches can make sense of conflicts, create emotional moments and demonize a perceived enemy. Political leaders can also twist facts and put us in deep fears and threats by giving us wrong information. So to what extent do political leaders exploit the human psychological tendency in order to achieve their goals? I believe that there is no limit as for them to lie or to give an untruthful speech as long as they do not involve breaking the law directly.
Since the incident of September 11, many U.S. leaders have told us that we have to fight our enemy. They told us that before we have a clue who our enemy was. Is it the Iraq? Is it Osama Bin Laden? Is it Saddam Hussein? We are repeatedly told we are in great danger and threat, and that we must fight back. Politicians demonized the enemy through television, magazines, radio, and Internet in our daily life. Sometimes, messages and information from these sources might not be as accurate and correct as we think. .
One current example is the George W. Bush's public speeches. I believe that some of his nationally-broadcast speeches were trying to mislead Congress and the American citizens into supporting and believing his administration policies in the middle east, especially in Iraq. On September 7th, President Bush gave a speech about the war situation in the Middle East. In the beginning of the speech, he said "Good evening. I have asked for this time to keep you informed of American's actions in the war on terror." It makes people feel uncomfortable and more emotionally involved when he used the term "war on terror" instead of "war in Iraq". In the middle of his speech, President George Bush stated, "Since the end of major combat operations, we have conducted raids seizing many caches of enemy weapons and massive amounts of ammunition.
