Pollution: A Leading Cause of Breast Cancer

In the last two centuries, cancer has moved from a rare disease to a common killer. Is it coincidence that pollution containing foreign matter has found its way into all aspects of our world? Is this knowledge being kept from us or is it just too depressing for society to handle? We read and are taught that "lifestyle" choices such as drinking , diet, smoking and stress are the main activities that cause cancer and if we don't want to get cancer, they should be avoided. It's true that these choices can cause cancer but maybe that's because by doing those things the body is exposed to the same cancer causing elements that it's exposed to while walking down the street. "Lifestyle choices" we can control in ourselves by our actions. Pollution we cannot. We are given this feeling of control by the many companies and governments profiting from our ignorance. They have created and profited from just some of the following: a wide array of chemical products including pesticides, hormones, whether medicinal or to fatten the meat of livestock or produce more milk for consumption, and nuclear radiation from bomb testing and power plants. They don't want to stop making money just because we've finally learned that their polluting is what really causing cancer in ourselves and our loved ones. Ironically, this corruption of our world is hitting hardest where new life is nurtured, the woman's breast. .
Foreign matter, also known as xenoestrogens, xeno coming from a Greek origin, meaning "foreign" invades the body, coming in with most of the food we eat, the air we breathe and the water we drink. Upon entering the body, be it animal or human, it weakens its defenses causing cancer, hormonal disruption, immunological abnormalities, and birth defects. (Sherman 2) For years researchers have encountered first animal then human cases in which xenoestorgens have mutated cells caused many forms of cancer.
