The learning styles of Howard Gardner's eight multiple intelligences would best be given by the intelligence and then stating how they learn what they like and what career would suit them best. The verbal / linguistic learner prefers to think in works and likes writing, reading and speaking, they learn best by reading and writing. A suitable career for this type of learner would be a teacher or librarian. The logical / mathematical learner enjoys calculating, experimenting, and likes charts and graphs. They learn best by using numbers and patterns. A good career for the logical learner would be an accountant, or scientist. A visual / spatial learner likes the arts such as, painting, sculptures and tends to daydream. These people tend to learn best by drawing and would make good artists. The musical learner enjoys pitch, melody, and rhythm. These people tend to hum or sing frequently and learn best by using rhymes or melodies. The bodily / kinesthetic learners make good surgeons and athletes. They learn best by using their bodies. They enjoy activities dancing and sports. An interpersonal learner makes a great teacher or politician. They enjoy understanding things manipulating and leading. They learn best by sharing and interacting with people such as in small groups. An intrapersonal learner is the opposite of an interpersonal learner. They prefer to do things on their own. They learn best when doing individual projects and by simply being alone. Good careers for the intrapersonal learners are, psychologists, and philosophers. The naturalists like to classify things and identify them. They learn best by using their hands and being interactive. A good job for a naturalist would be a biologist or farmer.
The differences between learning styles and multiple intelligence are that; a learning style is basically the way someone who is learning begins to concentrate, process and retain information either new or old.
