The Tuft of Flowers

The first poem I would like to interpret is "Ghost House." The interpretation I feel is being alone. He emphasizes dwelling in the house and viewing a star. The star is a metaphor in the poem. "It is under the small, dim, summer star. I know not who these mute folk are. You know the author is alone because he talks about the stars being mute. Frost talks about a house that has been destroyed and abandoned. The author speaks about how its surroundings like the wild raspberries, grapevine, ruined fence and orchard tree only exist in an abandoned natural habitat.
My experience is at times when I have been alone or in an abandoned place. I never pay much attention to such meaningless objects as stones, wild raspberries, orchards or anything that is a metaphor such as viewing the stars. Perhaps because he is a poet, he may write to express his sadness or dismal spirits that the abandoned Ghost House makes him feel. Certainly the author used his time of day to be thoughtful, where I would not have been interested. Certainly the poem teaches me that poets can use being isolated and abandoned as a time to create poetry that is self-satisfying. This is a reflection which I can maybe remember much later in life. .
Speaking of later in life, Robert Frost lived to be 80 years old. The "Tuft Of Flowers," is a one poem that he deals with to manage his feelings about death. "Seeking with memories grown dim o"er night/ Some resting flower of yesterday's delight". This setting of middle of the day on an early afternoon, places the narrator in the middle of life. The theme of continuity and time is found throughout the poem. It is also his theme on personal views and fellowship.
In the first of three transitions the speaker, most likely a farmer, comes out to a field just after dawn to turn the freshly mown grass to dry in the sun. The farmer then searches for the mower, but finds he is all alone.
