This leads to a harder time denying food for beauty. .
             Along with feeding and nourishing the husband and children come children's snacks. More than often children who misbehave are awarded sweets in order for good behavior. Children will be given sweets in order to relieve boredom and also as a form of substitution for attention. So it can be learned by a female that food is a way to satisfy emotions. These emotions are of boredom, lack of attention, or bad feelings of one self. Most women who have children do not continue working. Their lack of control in their life now leads them to boredom and food is often a way of relieving that feeling. Being a working woman leaves no time to think about eating and not as much time to think about the physical appearance. A stay at home mom faces gaps in her day where the children nap or play by themselves. The cleaning needs to be done of course and so do several other things in the house but the woman is left with more free time on her hands to consider her looks and become bored. On the other side of marriage is the husband. They still want the attractive and slim woman that they met and married. .
             Men have a great influence upon the female perspective of sexual attraction. When a husband mentions to his wife that she has gained weight she feels unattractive. Women have the need to satisfy their husband so as to keep them at home. If a man is not sexually attracted to his wife he may look to other sexually "ideal" women for pleasure. A husbands nagging does not cause a woman to feel overweight but she tends to reflect her current weight with the weight she was when she was younger. As people age their metabolisms slow down and this allows weight to be gained. If a changing diet was used as age progressed than weight gain would not vary so much with the past. Several interviews were conducted by Nikie Charles and Marion Kerr. In these interviews one woman expressed how her husband goes about informing her that she is fat; "look at your fat bottom" he"d say.
