Women and their bodies

There are several aspects that contribute to a female idea of her own body image. The problem with the ideas is that they all are negative. Today's society forces it down a young girls throat that she must look like a supermodel to gain respect and love in today's society. Once a girl starts to care about clothes and gains interest in makeup is when, "if she is slightly overweight", begins to realize that she does not fit in. People may make fun of her, she will not be considered as sexually attractive to the opposite sex due to her weight. The fact of the matter is that a woman's body was developed to carry a child inside of her for nine months. Today's society doesn't seem to find this idea very powerful. The beauty of real women does not lie in her outer appearance. The advertisements and commercials lead the young girl to believe that she needs to look like super models in order to hold status in today's world. .
Studies show that western civilizations ideal woman has been growing thinner with time. Where it used to be sexually appealing to be voluptuous and curvy it is now sexually attractive to be lean and angular. This new attitude towards the female body contradicts what it is supposed to look like. The female body holds a baby for nine months and then nurtures it afterwards. The fat around the lower stomach area of a woman is meant to be there for protection towards the unborn child and the woman's fertility. After the birth of a child a woman is usually the one who raises him or her. The upbringing of a child is a time consuming task. Women do not have nearly as much time to address their physical appearance when they are raising children. Women deny themselves food in order to lose the weight from the childbearing and remain sexually attractive to their husbands. Denying food to one self is not only unhealthy but irrational. The wife has to ensure that her husband and children get fed.
