Greek Religion

An example could be like if you were really irate and could think straight, you would go leave and try to cool off somewhere else and when this would happen, you would thank that certain god for helping you get things straight. So in this case the cooling winds from Zeus guided you through your troubles.
Everything that was a sign to the Greeks, like the winter's cold or the summer's heat had them thinking about a certain god like its too hot here because the god of fire and heat is awake and goes to sleep for a couple of months (these months being the winter season). The Greeks even made sacrifices for the gods. The Greeks believed that when one sacrificed something, most likely it would be an animal, that it would purify them for the gods. There were different animals for each god, but most preferred pigs. When one had their animal ready to be sacrificed, they would have it cooked on an altar so one could eat it later because the Greeks believed that the gods spirit would be inside that sacrificed animal. The Greeks also believed by doing this that they will become even closer to that god. The Greeks in my opinions so far, have a very deep religion because they pray constantly to the gods for luck, protection, and pray for their blessings. Then we have the Greeks sacrifices, where the Greeks believed in pleasing the gods by killing their own or someone else's animal to show how much they love their god. But maybe the Greeks made these sacrifices just to obtain their gods partial powers, because it was said that the gods spirit would be within the animal that was sacrificed for him and that who ever eats it would gain some portion for that gods powers. So maybe some Greeks believed in obtaining powers for their gods. But not all sacrifices were made for the Greeks gods" pleasure. Some sacrifices were made for someone to be purified. There was always something in a way to purify someone or thing.
