Positive and negative changes as a result of ww2

A possible trigger of this war was Truman's decision to use the atomic bomb on Japan, which caused the USSR to make one of their own. This was a war between the United States and the Soviet Union trying to gain support for either communism or capitalism. A possible trigger of this war was Truman's decision to use the atomic bomb on Japan, which caused the USSR to make one of their own. Truman argued that going into Japan with the military would cause another 500,000 American casualties knowing how the Japanese fight to the death (Doc.11). This in turn began the arms race. Both superpowers were spending as much as they could towards greater military achievement. As a result of this war, both superpowers now had nuclear weapons. (http://www.pjhealy.com.) This was a problem for the US because the base was 90 mi. away from Florida. Therefore, President Kennedy implemented a naval blockade around Cuba so no Soviet ships were allowed to enter Cuba. Eventually Khrushchev ordered the removal of the nuclear bases that were being built.
