When a person complains they are expressing their lack of knowledge and understanding for the problem they are faced with. Voicing complaints is a way of iterating the need for help, in an informal manner. Some link the informality of the question and the nature of the person who said it. People who are self-centered have trouble voicing the problems with a situation because of their fear for inferiority. Complaining is a bad way to ask for help. It is just as easy to ask a person, "would you please help me." However the self centered person must be in control, so that inferiority is not felt. Knowledge is what separates people who complain from others. People who don't complain spend the time they would have spent complaining on building knowledge concerning the problem.
