DEARS, if I ask you to list some hot topics of this century, clone is sure to be one of it. So, today, let's talk about Human Cloning Acceptable Or Not by the way of debating. I am so glad here to introduce "the for" Amy and the against "Yanan".
The rules of this debate are very simple. Each of you should make a statement of defending your own idea after my introduction, and then free debate will follow. After that, I will welcome some of the audiences to make statement of their own.
Cloning in the most basic sense is the production of an organism that is identical to another. In the cloning process, a scientist takes the genetic information of an organism and inserts into an unfertilized egg cell from a member of the same species. The egg then begins to develop, functioning under the direction of its newly acquired genetic code, and eventually, a genetically identical organism is created.
Since a British biologist coined the term "clone" in his speech in 1963, the first organism, Dolly, ever to be cloned from adult cells, was born in July 1996. On March 4, 1997, EX-President of united states Bill Clinton proposed a five-year moratorium on federal and privately funded human cloning research, in response to the large-scale human cloning ethics debate. Although it now seems more likely that human cloning will become feasible, we may doubt that the practice will come into widespread use.
So, Is human Cloning acceptable or not? Ok, now let us welcome Amy and she will tell us why she supports cloning.
Yanan, it is your turn against Amy.
Thank you for your excellent speech. And it is the time for free debate. Let's begin form "the for" Amy.
Everything is a double-sided sword, cloning is no exception. on one hand, it may lead disaster for human beings concerning ethical, social and legal aspects. On the other hand, it does make great contribution on medical science and other human health aspects. So, dears, what is your opinion? .
