It is also a satisfying feeling when a student receives a mark, which they did not work for, just so they can gloat and tell their friends that they did well on a test without even trying. I remember in high school, my friends and I always sat together on one big desk so that during test it was easier to pass each other notes and answers or even switch papers. After receiving good marks we all laughed about how easy the test was forgetting about how we got the mark. This showed ignorance on our part because we were too lazy to study properly and the major problem was that we did not foresee what would happen later on in the future when we all departed from one another to attend universities where classes got more difficult and now we do not have anyone to depend on. .
Another reason why students cheat is because they are over burdened with other class workload. Some students even have multiple jobs and family obligations and/or social activities they need to attend to. This load of work causes loss of time and lots of stress towards school because the student now has other responsibilities to deal with. When students have other things in their mind then the task at hand, they loose efficiency and the mental capacity to finish their schoolwork. For example last year one-week before my finals I was working at "Sears" and I asked for the week off, but they refused to give me a week off, so I quit. After I quit, I began to stress over finding a new job because I just lost my only source of income and I needed a new job as soon as possible to buy myself food to eat everyday. While I was studying for my final exam in physics, all I thought about was getting a new job and where I should apply, thus I did not get that much studying done for my exam. Even though during the exam I was not thinking about getting a new job it was still in my subconscious which stressed me out, I resorted to cheating off my friend on the final question of the exam, which was worth 15 marks.
