News, fact or fiction?

Wouldn't you like to know what the other break-in victims lost to see if a pattern was developing? I know I would, but they don't tell viewers that, they leave the viewers hanging on this one example that could go in many different directions. What if the people stealing these things have a history with the victim's children? That would certainly provide a motive behind the break-ins. What if these break-ins were actually performed by homeless people just looking for a way to have money to buy food the next day? The situation would certainly change the outcome of what police and reporters try to replay to the general public. A news headline that states "homeless people going into homeowners garages looking for goods" would stir emotion in people. The headline could push them to further go into detail about what other things could be done for the homeless to sway them away from homeowners to helping themselves out by taking advantage of programs that could be set up from viewers watching the news that would like to take action to ensure they aren't the next garage break-in victim.
The next story is one of murder. Murder is something everyone wants to watch, it's exciting, it doesn't happen everyday, and when it does happen viewers want to know who, when, why, where, how, and just a vast number of other questions that just pop into their mind. The news seems to always mention these stories, and it never fazes the general public into thinking, "what if this happened to my family" or "what if the person murdered was my closest friend?" Viewers are insensitive to details like these when it comes to watching it on a television screen. If they were on the site and saw first hand what was happening, their view on the subject would be much different than it is just watching the T.V. In this story they mention that two young kids are found three months after being reported missing, dead in a farmers field.
