Descriptive Essay

It was a lonely four o"clock morning on the docks of Saquatucket Harbor in Harwich, Massachusetts. The fishing boats gave off an aroma of blood and guts. The sailboats chattered among themselves as their masts clanged in the breeze. The air was cold and damp, and the fog was as thick as a milkshake. The roar of a truck ripped through the parking lot like a tornado, and out jumped Rich. He gathered his belongings out of the truck as if it was his suitcase and brought the items down to the boat. Again he made his way to his suitcase to grab more things and came back to the boat. He powered the radio and listened to the marine forecast for the day. As Rich did that, Mark and Steve, both traveling in the same green truck splashed with mud, showed up with the weekend's supply of food, drinks, and toiletries. They, too, unloaded their truck and brought it to the boat.
The three had listened to the forecast for the day ahead and decided that today would be a good day to travel to their fishing grounds. Rich, the husky and unshaven captain, fired up the boat and diesel fumes filled the air like the smoke from a smoke bomb. Mark, a younger gentleman with a beard and shaved head, packed the boat up to get ready for the excursion out to the fish filled sea. Steven, a younger man, too, filled the live wells with deadly bluefish and loaded the cooler with ice.
At four thirty when all the chores were done, the crew of three was ready to hit the high seas and put their luck on the line. As they shoved away from the dock, they headed out for the ocean. As Rich steered the vessel out of the harbor, the two younger men did odd jobs on the deck of the boat. Mark set the rods off of the side of the boat and rigged them up for the later events of the day. .
With the rods hanging off like limbs of a tree and the antennas of the boat floating in the wind, they were eventually off to their fishing grounds. The weather was good, and the seas were as calm as a lake.
