Comparison of kurasawa's yume and miyazaki's spirited away

In modern Japanese cinema, there are two directors who have made a great contribution to the art. Akira Kurasawa and Hayao Miyazaki have left a lasting mark on the film world. They have left the work of Yume, created in 1990, and Spirited Away debuted in 2002, respectively. .
Although the stories both deal with fantasies created by the writers there are many other similarities and differences in the stories. Yume is the story based on Kurasawa's dreams. In this tale he is a child who ventures from his home and witnesses a fox wedding. After he tells this to his mother he is banished from the house, told that what he did was unforgettable. In this way, the story is one created by the subconscious imagination. Kurasawa chose to represent this vision with real people. Personification was also included, as the foxes took on the actions, behaviors, and manners of humans. With a closer look at Yume , the viewer can see the exploration of supernatural. The child in the story seems involved in a world unexplored by humans , as he views the fabled fox wedding. It also seems as though he ended up in a place he was not supposed to be. .
Miyazaki also created a fantastical animated story in Spirited Away, although this was a consciously created of another child in a world she was not meant to see. While on a family vacation her family becomes lost and enters another world of the supernatural. Personification of animals is included as the child's parents make a transformation and there are many other mythical creatures. It also seems that she was not meant to be in this place either.
