What is my essence? As far back as I can remember I was always an outgoing, bubbly little daddy's girl. I thought I had everything A mother, father, a little brother, Nana, and an amazing Aunt. I ventured off into school and made friends with many people, Life was great. Now at seventeen years of age I am still that Bubbly little daddy's girl, but In the past 2 years this little girl has had a few, well rude awakenings. Is it hard to be happy all the time? Not really. I enjoy being around people, meeting new ones and leave people with the impression- wow she is a nice girl-. I wonder sometimes myself how I do it. Ahh yes my rude awakenings, two very heartbreaking events in my life that really touched my emotions. 4 years ago when I was about thirteen years old I was told that My Aunt Michelle, whom was 41 yrs old at the time was diagnosed with Liver cancer. Being Young and Naive you think your loved ones are immortal, so I thought to myself this is bad but its Aunt Michelle she can over come anything. She was given only 3 months two live but lived 2 years. She fought so hard to hang on for the people she loved, but one can only fight for so long. I lost my Best friend that day, but gained a lot of maturity. One year later, I come home to my sobbing mother. You know when you have a feeling that your going to be told something horrific, well I already knew. I was told my Nana now was diagnosed with cancer of the intestine. I didn't cry, I built my wall and said mom everything happens for a reason, and what ever happens we will get through. We have been down this path before. Day by day things progressively worsened, since my Nana was staying in our home everyday I saw her progress go down hill. It broke my heart and once again there was nothing I could do. When my nana passed away, I can say I was a tad bitter. Bitter is just not me, so I got myself together put my smile back on my face, even on days I didn't want to.
