Disneyland

Most people don't know that Disneyland was almost going to close down shortly after opening. I will explain the life of Walt Disney and the events leading up to the Construction of Disneyland. .
1Walt Elias Disney was brought from a very large, but poor family. He was born on December 5, 1901 in Chicago Illinois, to his father Elias Disney, and mother Flora Call Disney (1). After Walt's birth, the Disney family moved to Marceline Missouri, where Walt lived most of his childhood there (1). Walt had very early interests in art; he would often sell his drawings to neighbors to make extra money. He pursued his art career by studying art and photography at McKinley High School in Chicago (1). Though his father could be quite strict, and often there was little money, Walt was encouraged by his mother and his older brother Roy to pursue his talents. He wanted to join the military but he was rejected because he was under age. So he joined the Red Cross and was sent to France, where he spent a year driving an ambulance and chauffeuring Red Cross officials. Once Walt returned from France, he began to pursue a career in commercial arts (2). He started a small company called Laugh-O-Grams, but later it went bankrupt. So he packed his bags with twenty bucks in his pocket, and made his way to Hollywood to start a whole new life. He eventually started his own business in Hollywood and later married one of his first employees, Lilian Bounds; and they had two daughters, Diane and Sharon (3). Disney was increasingly growing more successful as time went on. Movie after movie, they were becoming a hit. And not long ago it was just Walt and his brother Roy Disney in his uncle's garage with a cheap camera (4). At the time they were making ten dollars a month from their "Alice Comedies", which were a mix of live action filming and animated as well. After moving twice before settling down in their Burbank studio, Disney was well on his way.
