The book that I chose to do Literature Review on was The Way Things Ought To Be, by Rush Limbaugh. This book is just one opinion and that being of Mr. Rush himself. It covers many different events and Rush's thoughts of the events. He says in the opening pages that his book will cover the "Various disguises of liberal movements and how their agendas are affecting our society." And that is what he does talking about Congress, Head of State, Abortion, Homeless, Schools, and other important subjects.
The book begins with the introduction of Rush's life and how he became who he is today. H didn't just wake up and have the radio station he has today, or he wasn't just "Born," into the radio world, he worked and worked until he became the "king of radio." He states "My success does not come from who wins the Election, but by how many fans I have listening to me." By that he means he could really care less who wins the elections cause regardless of whom does he will still be able to state his opinion about them and continue his ways. He hasn't always been the man who says whatever come to his mind, early in his career he was only concerned with performing for the people who listened to him not really being truthful with his fans just gave them what he thought they wanted to hear. KFBK radio station in Sacramento is where most of his younger years of radio were held. He went about his everyday radio show but his time he had a guest who really just woke him up. By that I mean showed him that the people don't always want the guy who agrees with them and doesn't start up any controversy. Little did that guest know what type of opinionated man was in Rush's body. From then on he was a changed man who said what he wanted to say and started to stir up some emotions. .
On November 8,1990 on the T.V show Nightline Rush made his television debut. Once he was on there he had finally convinced his father that he was going to be successful in the radio.
