"Citizen Tipster" is the screen name Brad used to send the information he received from personal computers to a computer based web page watch dog for child molesters and pedophiles. Irvine detective Ron Carr was alerted, through the watchdog web page, and was sent excerpts from Kline's diary entries. When Carr investigated Williams, he was surprised to find a young man at the heart of this serious investigation. Two hard drives and dozens of diskettes were removed as evidence from Williams's home, and Carr went as far to notify the Canadian Police. Williams is not charged with possession of pornography, claiming they are images he uses, or has downloaded from others computers, during his hacking. The Canadian police have advised Williams to stop hacking or he will be charge and arrested for hacking.
The Setback.
The question regarding Williams now is was he working for himself or for the government. U.S. District Court Judge Consuelo Marshall in Los Angeles will issue a ruling on whether Williams was working for the government or himself. Attorneys for the government claim Williams was working for himself when he hacked into Kline's, and others, computers. If found working for the government, all evidence could be thrown out of the federal court case for violating search and seizure laws. If Williams was in California, he would be charged with illegally hacking into computers. Three years ago, Williams tipped the Canadian Police to a man who was offering his 8 year old daughter to Williams; the man was arrested and convicted.
Williams hacked into Kline's personal computer and was astonished to find over 1,500 images of boys having sexual intercourse, and pictures of young boys in various sexual positions. What astounded Williams even more was that Kline was a Superior Court Judge. Williams also found a personal diary of Kline's, with explicit details of actual events and of dreams and fantasies regarding young boy bodies.
