Have you ever sat a red light at an intersection, and then all of a sudden two cars next to you started revving their engines, powerful engines. Then they took off on green and started racing, and then they disappeared in a flash? Well I have. I've seen that happen too many times, its very dangerous, because you can crash your car, or even kill yourself or someone else. You can also get your car impounded and a very big ticket. Why go through all this trouble when you can just go to a local raceway in Florida doing it legally just like a lot of other people. People just like you who want to show off their "rockets.".
I personally don't race on the streets because it's like gambling, because you never know when you are going to lose. But the race is not the only thing you can lose. One race could be fine, the next one tragic. That's the thing, we never know. This always kept me from racing in the streets. There is a saying that says, "Speed doesn't kill, sudden uncontrolled stops do." This saying is kind of stupid because it's just an excuse to go fast. Think of how bad your parents could get hurt. Think about your brother(s) or sister(s), your relatives and friends. Think about the life you could have had. But no, you chose to race. What if you kill someone else? You can go to jail up to twenty years. But if the person survives, you will be paying their medical bills and for every thing for the rest of there lives.
You can get a little lucky and get a ticket. For some people a ticket is enough to make them stop, unfortunately, for some that's only another piece of paper, like another bill. The ticket is around three hundred dollars. If you are a little unluckier, you will get your car impounded and you also get the ticket. They usually impound your car for thirty days. It costs somewhere around a thousand dollars to get it out after its past thirty days. .
Why go through all this trouble when you can go to a raceway in Florida, pay about fifteen dollars and race from 5pm till 10pm all you want.
