At the beginning of the play Macbeth, Macbeth is known as a praiseworthy hero in battle. Then he deteriorates into an impulsive cold-blooded murderer, because of other people dominating his decisions. He is a man whom for the sake of his ambition is willing to murder his King and his best friend. Nevertheless by the end of the play he is distinguished as a despised tyrant and a corrupt gentleman.
In the opening scenes, King Duncan refers to Macbeth as if he is a courageous man. Shakespeare tries to emphasise Macbeth's bravery by quoting, "brave Macbeth", "noble Macbeth", and "O valiant cousin! Worthy gentleman! This shows Macbeth is a very important man and is required in their civilisation. Even-though Macbeth does not emerge until the following scene we have a clear perspective of who he is how his character conducts himself and how his associates have high regards for him and respect him greatly.
When Macbeth hears the witches prophesies, .
" All hail, Macbeth! Hail to thee, Thane of Glamis! .
All hail, Macbeth! Hail to thee, Thane of Cawdor! .
All hail. Macbeth! That shalt be King hereafter." .
He is stunned, yet is obviously curious to know more, however his acquaintance Banquo is not very affected by his prophecy, .
"Thou shalt get kings, though thou be none:.
So, all hail, Macbeth and Banquo!.
I believe Banquo wishes his prognosis might happen but he takes no action to reach this goal; he is not so brave and determined as Macbeth is. Macbeth can sometimes be a bit credulous he thought that it was the witch's magic that had won him the title "Thane of Cawdor" but it was actually his courage on the battlefield. After winning the title, Macbeth thinks of some disturbing and horrific thoughts of murder;.
"If chance will have me king, why chance.
may crown me .
Without my stir".
Macbeth was a good and loyal kinsman who would never harm his king but if it weren't for outside forces, he would have lived happily as Thane of Cawdor.
