             There are a few aspects from which families interact with our society: cultural, economic. Family is a cultural unit, refreshing traditional, religious, political and cultural values. These values reflect to the society in all kinds of activities like celebration, participation in community interaction. Family is an economical unit, which was productive unit in the past (before industrialization), and eventually become a consumption unit. Family contains several relationships all of which represent a unique way of living together, that is, a person has to act in different roles. Aiming to meet emotional and psychological needs through interaction with others, families provide basic groundwork for patterns of socialisation, skills of communicating, handling different levels of conflict, as well as a sense of belonging. For most people, family is the initial place of learning, in their childhood and early adulthood. .
             Now, we have discussed that there are certain connections between families and our society. However, the reality of a family in actual situation is not idealistic, issues like family violence, parenting, gender roles, ageing always exist. The crime of family violence is widespread in the Australian community. A survey indicated that violence was in one out of three households (Family court of Australia). The violence could be physical, emotional neglect, economic, verbal abuse, sexual assault, or even marital murder. Rape in the marriage was once a dilemma of family law. Many of us would possibly have experienced violence, pain, suffering and hurt in our family life; there are no such perfect families. In some of the third world countries, women still don't have the right they deserved. Many families struggle with providing basic substances, education, health, there is no point for those countries to establish a non-violence family system. While, in developed countries rate of divorce is steady.
