Sexuality is not just about having sex, it is a theme that is found all throughout society. Sex refers to the biological distinction between males and females. Males and females have different primary sex characteristics, focusing on the genitals, which are the organs used for reproduction. Sex is viewed different in most cultures. Sexual practice shows considerable variation from one society to another. Sexuality has most definitely changed in the United States over the last 100 years. For instance some states still banned condoms in 1960. Major change stated in the 1920's though, as millions of people stated migrating towards cities. Living apart from their families and meeting in the workplace, young men and women enjoyed a lot of sexual freedom. The sexual revolution was controversial, and was criticized by many people in the late 1960's and 197's because it brought down the country's morality which brought about the sexual counterrevolution. In association with premarital sex 41.9 % of adults feel that it is not wrong. The Laumann study found that the frequency of sexual activity varied widely in the United States population. Adultery is widely condemned throughout most of the world. Sexual orientation is referring to a person's preference in terms of sexual partners: same sex, other sex, either sex, or no sex. Sexual orientation is thought of as a product of society, and a product of biology. There are many sexual controversies with teen pregnancy being just one of them, and it is a very serious problem in society. Pornography is sexually explicit material that causes sexual arousal. Symbolic- interaction analysis shows that as people interact they construct everyday reality. The social construction os sexuality is every changing such as the example of virginity, and the different norms. Social- conflict analysis is the practice of sexuality that is uneven throughout the world .
