Indiana Jones leads a double life-professor at a university one day and a fearless adventurer searching for priceless artifacts another. He is our typical hero in our typical hero quest. As all adventures begin, Indy needed a call to adventure something that would lead him towards the path to his famous quest. This begins when Marcus Brody takes Indy from his classroom to the National Museum in Washington. While there Indy meets with Broady and government officials and his quest is given to him. They ask him to secure the Staff of Ra. It seems that the Nazis were trying to acquire the staff to detect the location of the lost Ark of the Covenant. With WWII approaching this opportunity could not be cast aside, for the Ark of the Covenant possessed the power to make any army invincible. It was time for our hero, Indiana Jones to save the day.
In order to keep the Ark from falling into the wrong hands and acquiring the Staff of Ra, Jones had to find his old friend Abner Ravenwood. It seemed the staff was given to him many years ago for protection. As Indiana arrived inside Abner's pub he saw Marion, his friend daughter, who grew more beautiful over the years. Indiana soon was met with hostility from Marion, and learned that Abner was dead. He offered to pay Marion for the staff, and she agreed to a hefty price that would be paid to her in the morning. Indy left and our first trickster appeared. He was a short evil looking German man, accompanied by many Nazi's. This man offered to buy the staff from Marion, and she tried to get as much money out of him as she could. Being a short tempered evil man, after learning that she was in possession of the staff, he grabbed Marion and threatened her to give him the staff. She was strong, and did not give into his persistent threats. This man proceeded to try and maim/torture her to get what he wanted. Through all the commotion a fire broke out. But, never fear our hero Indiana Jones was there to save the day, as he busted back into the pub.
