To this day my favorite childhood experience has to be, when my father and I went to my very first Pirates game ever. It was the Pirates V.S. the Yankees. Till this day I have only been to one other Pirates game in my life. When I went to that game it still did not compare to the game that I went to with my dad. I guess since I was with him it was something very special to me and nothing can ever take the place of that game. I still remember that day like it was yesterday.
When we went to that game I had to be all of eleven years old then. I won the tickets to the game while I was in middle school. The teachers had a contest with all the grades, which was six kids from each grade with the best grades in their class won two tickets two the game, one for them and one for a parent or guardian to accompany them to the game. Once it was time to go to the game, everyone that one took a school bus to the game to make it easier to get there. It was the funniest thing to see my father seated and riding on a school bus. Once we got to the game and found our seat we sat back and enjoyed the game. I remember looking over at him in about the sixth inning looking at him sitting on the edge of his seat with anticipation on if the player at bat was going to hit a home run or not. By the end of the game we were both so full of pop, chips, candy, and nachos. Basically anything that was there we ate it, that's why we were glad that we didn't drive because by the time we went to pull out the parking lot we both wanted to go straight to sleep once we got home.
