Chosen Scene Shot Analysis - Bicycle Thieves


The scene is comprised of a quick and very wide bird's eye view shot of the stadium and the street in front of it with emphasis on the cheering crowd involved.
             3. Cut to the next scene at eye level again, back to Bruno and Antonio still sitting on the curb. Young Bruno staring at his father is uneasy seeing him in this panicked state. His father Antonio is pushing his face with both his hands expressing a strong sense of pressure. You can tell Antonio is beginning to lose his patience and he's trying to hold it back.
             4. Cut to the next scene keeping the same distance from the two on the curb but only about 10 feet to the right. The camera pans slowly back to the left as a large group of cyclists pass in front of them. The shot ends back at eye level in front of Bruno and Antonio glancing at the cyclists and then back at each other before Antonio stands up staring towards the stadium. .
             5. Cut to the next scene. You can see it in Antonio's face that he is beginning to lose his patience as he stares in the distance at the crowd now leaving the stadium (next scene). The crowd's cheers are getting louder as if to entice in the audience a sense of uneasiness as the film cuts to the next scene.
             6. This scene is a POV from the view of Antonio as he watches the crowd begin to leave the stadium. The scene is a very wide shot at a bird's eye view and pans to the left for the majority of the shot glancing over the crowd. Dramatic orchestral music begins to play at the start of the shot slowly increasing in volume. This shot is insinuating the strong anxiety building up within Antonio as the scans over the crowd leaving the stadium. It almost seems like hes thinking that he's running out of time.
             7. Cut back to an eye level view of Antonio standing and looking at the crowd. He glances down at his son Bruno in distress and turns behind him and walks towards the cross road of the street he was sitting on before.
