Family and friends are important to Abigail because they are helpful in life. Her family is there to "keep her in line and look out for her." In her discussion about family, she explained that she still needed them for many things such as money, food, and guidance, but less so than before. She has a few older cousins whom she looks up to as role models but she feels that "friends like similar things and think the same things are funny." Other things that are similar are boys that they hang out with, sports they play, clothes, music and games. Abigail plays several sports and spoke about one, track. She is currently in track season now and enjoys it, especially because some of her close girlfriends run track. Her family has less influence on what she chooses to play now, "she ultimately is allowed to decide." Abigail said that her "mom use to make compete with gymnastics but once she got in high school she was allowed to make the decision own her own. .
When asked about her goals, she described both short and long-term goals. Short-term, Abigail wants to maintain her good grades, be more organized at school, and beat her track time for the hurdles. She also wants to make good time so she can be invited to the next big invitational. Long-term goals are to succeed in life by getting a college degree, good paying job that she likes, and ultimately start her own family.
