But despite of the problems, DepEd Secretary Luistro is positive that the K to 12 curriculum program is the right step towards getting education right. He acknowledges that the teacher training will take years, and the new curriculum remains a work progress.
             The new curriculum is in the midst of crisis that challenges its sustainability and effective implementation to have better results for the improvement of the Philippine Basic Education. Nevertheless, the new curriculum has its wonderful intention to enhance the Education Sector of the Philippines. For this to become successful, the cooperation on both the government and the people is highly needed through working positively and honestly for the excellence of the Philippine Education.
             Chapter II.
             Body of the Analysis.
             A. Salient Features of K to 12 Curriculum Program.
             • Universal Kindergarten Education – Strengthening Early Childhood Education.
             • Mother Tongue-Based Multilingual Education –Building Proficiency through .
             Language.
             • Specializations- Gearing Up for the Future.
             Senior High School is two years of specialized upper secondary education; students may choose a career track based on aptitude, interests, and school capacity. The choice of career track will define the content of the subjects a student will take in Grades 11 and 12. These subjects fall under either the Core Curriculum or specific Career Pathways.
             CORE CURRICULUM.
             There are six subjects under the Core Curriculum. These are Humanities, Languages (English and/or Filipino), Math, Philosophy, Science, and Social Sciences. Current content from some General Education subjects are embedded in the SHS curriculum.
             CAREER PATHWAYS.
             Each student in Senior High School can choose among five tracks: Business and Entrepreneurship; Humanities and Social Sciences; Science, Technology, and Engineering; Sports; and Technical-Vocational.
