Many examples come to mind when it comes to trial by media. Aarushi murder case is the perfect example of how talwars were shown as murderers by many media organizations. Style of writing and headlines were such that the readers and viewers were made to believe that the Talwars were guilty of killing their daughter. Even though the case is still pending before the court but many people have already reached their verdicts. Hopefully the judge of the case isn't one of them. Another case that comes to mind is that of Salman Khan Accident case where media alleged that Salman was behind the wheels of the car that killed people on the pavement. .
Recently verdict came by court clearly states that Salman Khan was not the culprit, his driver was. .

If the media projects a suspect or an accused as if he has already been adjudged guilty well before the trial in courts, there can be serious problem to the accused. Even if ultimately the person is acquitted in the courts, such an acquittal may not help the accused to rebuilt his lost image in society. Excessive publicity in the media characterizing him as a person who indeed committed the crime.
If the identity of witnesses is published, there is danger of the witnesses coming under pressure both from the accused or his associates as well as from the police. At the early stage, the witnesses want to retract and get out of the case. Witness protection is then a serious casualty. This leads to the witness changing his/her statements in favor or against the accused.
