The Backyard Duck Farm in Victoria, Laguna was first visited. Before visiting the backyard duck farm, part of Laguna de Bay nearby was first visited and some introduction and pieces of information were discussed. Some of the backyard duck farm owners were interviewed about their duck business, their starting capital and the net income they get from raising ducks. They were also interviewed about how they manage their wastes especially wastes coming from their duck business. .
On the second part of the trip, the Septage Treatment Plant (STP) in Puypuy, Bay, Laguna was visited. One Pollution Control Officer in STP briefly discussed the process done in their plant including the machines that they are using and the process that the septage undergo in the process of its treatment. After the discussion, another Pllution Control Officer also toured us in the plant. The different modern equipment and machines they are using were seen. Also, the actual process of treating the septage was witnessed.
On the third part of the trip, we visited the Municipal Plaza in Brgy Poblacion, Los Baños, Laguna. A portion of Laguna de Bay was visited. The different establishments nearby the bay were also listed. The different interactions of the terrestrial and lake ecosystem were also listed down. The effects of those establishments and interactions were also observed. .
On the last part of the trip, the Molawin creek was visited. The basic environmental conditions in the area and he possible changes in the physical and biological characteristics of the water body brought about by system were observed. Also, the human activities that directly or indirectly affect the ecosystems were listed down. .
As an output for the educational trip, mechanisms and strategies by which negative impacts of human activities on the lake ecosystem can be minimized will also be presented in this paper.
V. Discussion.
Victoria, Laguna is a lakeside town with an enterprising poultry farm raising Philippine mallard ducks or Itik as it is locally termed.
