" I proceeded over to the ticket counter to check in my bags of gear. While standing in line to check my gear bags, Alexis held my hand so tight as if she was scared to death. I knew this was going to be one of the worst days of my life. .
"Good morning sir, how may I help you?" .
"I'm checking in, along with checking my gear bags for flight number 9666 to Kabul.".

"Yes, it is today, believe me, I would not have come here if it was for a different day.".
"Hmm let see what I can figure out here for you sir".
She got on the phone and asked for someone to come over and help here after she explained to them the situation. After about ten minutes a tall gentleman walked over and behind the counter and began looking over my documents and my flight information that I had provided to the first agent. .

"No, he is not and neither am I, not in the slightest bit" Alexis snapped back before he could finish his sentence. .
"He is going to war for our country and leaving me.".
"Oh my god, I'm sorry for saying that. I appreciate your service and your sacrifice.".
