Males, Females and Co-Education

When parents allow their children learn in co-educational schools they are in a way preparing them academically, emotionally, and socially for higher education and life demands an environment that is reflective of the real world.
In addition, when genders are learning together and having an equal level of education, it is expected for both genders to grow to be more respectful of each other. Since both genders are in fact getting an equal treatment, they will be convinced that one gender is not and should not be more powerful over the opposite gender. Co-education will teach students that both gender are equal and one gender is not smarter nor stronger than the opposite gender. As a result, the community will have much less arguments around gender differences. There are obvious differences between genders, but co-education will teach them how to work through their differences and to communicate through their problems. Positive interactions between genders will definitely help to disprove negative gender stereotypes that can be found often in most cultures. According to "The Town School" which also offers co-ed, "in a co-ed school girls and boys can also know that when they succeed they are doing so with the other gender present – as it is and will be in the real world – and this can only have a positive impact on future achievement and self-esteem". Co-educational schools teach students that one gender is not more suitable to take on leadership roles than the other, instead it teaches them to make decisions through communicating and compromising and have an equal leadership at all time. People who are supporting co-education believe that same-gender schools are limiting to the student's personality growth and life experiences.
On the other hand, many students at single-gender schools think that the absence of the opposite gender is a huge advantage to them since they would feel a lot more comfortable and at ease when they are surrounded with people with the same gender.
