Justification Through the Word of God


4 Conversely, Divine Intervention inspired the Apostles who wrote the Old and New Testaments of the Bible, making it the word of mankind. .
             Throughout history, individuals and governments have interpreted the holy texts in many different ways. People often look to these texts not only in time of need for answers and understanding, but for inspiration as well. While reading the similar translated stories of the Koran and the Bible, one can get the impression that the people or the judges would acknowledge a leader for their tribes due to their connection with God. These leaders would then use their position of power as well as Gods name to justify unsavory situations. Through two key figures and their stories in both the Bible and the Koran, an interpretation can be made that the leaders would use God and faith as a way to justify murder, persecutions, and religious assimilation amongst the tribes. .
             Among the separate scriptures, they hold similar pivotal figures that make up the religious doctrine texts. These pivotal figures show how the text can be interpreted as a way to justify deaths of others, as well as the want for religious assimilation, and the persecution of those who do not conform. They also show the consequences that can occur when people choose to ignore Gods messages and warnings that he gives through these figures, of which he has chosen. Among these major figures, and the first key story, that will be compared is the one of Noah and his Ark.
             In both the Bible and the Koran, Noah is depicted in similar and yet different ways. The story of Noah is said to have come about around 3000 B.C., when severe flooding around the known cultures took place.5 By writing the story, it gave the people a way to understand the natural occurrence that had wiped out a large portion of the Earths inhabitants. .
             In the Bible, the Apostles wrote Noah's story in a way that showed him, as not only a man of good faith, but the only man of good faith.
