In the article, "Everything you need to know about Google Glass," by Hayley Tsukayama. It states, "It's basically wearing heavier pair of glasses with a small screen that hangs just out of your direct line of vision." The article is saying that the glasses helps us stay connected with our society but having a phone screen just in front of us takes us away from our life; the people and the nature.
Creating a lasting bond with other people requires face-to-face interaction. The more we isolate ourselves with technology the fewer bonds we will form. People are expected to do more work at home which takes away time they would be spending with their families. Also, younger people prefer communicating online versus face-to-face. When people are in the same room and communicating via text or instant messaging instead of speaking to each other. Because of technology relationships in the society are not strong enough. But the bonds that we create with others is a way in which human's lives. We live by interacting and communicating with each other face-to-face. But with technology even the blood relations are weakening as we can see in Feed by M.T. Anderson. "My father seemed surprised and then blinked. He said, "Oh. Shit. Yeah, I forgot. No m-chat. Just talking." (55) This reflects the relationship between a father and a son, in a society like Feed, where there is no bond all they speak is through m-chat, even if they are sitting in the same room. .
There is lack of coping between people. People are not only dependent on technology they are also addicted to it. Lack of copping leads to addiction. In article, "Are you addicted to your smartphone? Read these 12 sentences to find out." by Dr. James Roberts says that, "for many Americans it's the first thing they see after waking and the last thing they check before falling asleep." Technology use can become overuse and addiction when it starts to take away from the time you'd normally spend on socializing with friends or family, relaxing, or doing a hobby.
