Short Story - Beauty Killed the Beast

He studied the flights of the birds as they changed directions and destinations swiftly. He could hear their tiny hearts beating. They sounded like machine guns at war. He felt the power of the breeze their wings sent out as they rushed to the flowers and swooped to the ground to grab hold of the insects. .
             He pushed his brown hair backwards as it fell straight down his head brushing against his ears and cheeks. He grabbed his shirt and quickly put it on and picked up his car keys as he pulled the door in behind him. He slipped on his sunglasses and then drove off scattering the leaves behind him. .
             Isabelle tumbled through her draws and piled clothes on clothes as she tried to find something to wear on her first day. It was the first day of her final year in high school and she was lost at what to wear. She let her hair down and put on a short black and purple striped skirt and a black tank top. She brushed her hair through then straightened it. She fixed it evenly in front and behind of her when she was done then put on her favorite red cherry lip balm and grabbed her car keys, bag and a coat off the rack on her way downstairs. Her feet pitter-pattered as they hit the steps. She ran into the kitchen and grabbed a sandwich then kissed her little brother on the forehead and her mom on the cheek as she bid them goodbye and head through the door. She threw everything in the back seat of the car then jumped in the front. She tumbled for her boots in the front seat as she started the car. She found them under the seat then threw them at the back with the rest of her stuff as she started the car and sped out. .
             The first day is always a rush. He parked his car in the parking lot then casually came out with his bag as he locked the door and put on his alarm. He walked in studying the entire environment around him. The children, the teachers, the building. He knew it wouldn't be easy to survive in this environment.
