Terror at Home

In addition to the poor state of our economy, the government is focusing all of its resources on the "War on Terrorism." Our fragile infrastructure is neglected. In a recent interview Al Gore gave a statement to the Brookings institution commenting on the poor state our economy is in because of Republican Politics, and the awkward stand that it is taking toward our domestic issues. Gore stated:.
             How can it be essential that we go to war prior to the election, but absolutely fine to wait until after the election before we take any action to deal with the economy? The hard truth is there is a crisis of confidence in US economic leadership throughout the world, and this lack of confidence has become in itself an obstacle to global economic recovery. (Kirchhoff).
             This is a compounding series of problems, unfortunately induced by our own zealousness. Now people all over the United States are suffering miserably.
             The victims of terror are the people directly affected by the acts of fanatics. We are the unfortunate people that are now looking for work and poorer than before. United people suffering from an economic crisis due to a drop in industry. A drop in industry caused by a fear of travel. A fear of travel induced by brainwashed and over idealistic terrorists. We are now seeing the repercussions to our own actions and bad decision making in the Middle East. The vicious cycle has returned to us. Now our engineers cannot .
             design because of a lack of production and expansion. Our blue-collar workers have been laid-off by the thousands because of a waning need of produced goods. Technological industries are at a bonus because of an all-encompassing need for national security, but not a need for a large workforce. There are hundreds of thousands of people that have become victim to repossessions, foreclosures, and their own need for non-existent jobs due to the poor state of the economy.
