Pepsi Co and the Mountain Dew Commercial


A Wall Street broker by the name of Roy Megargel bought the Pepsi-Cola company along with the trade make for the amount of $35,000. It was than the Pepsi-Cola Corporation was established for good. In 1965 two companies decided to come together, one being Pepsi-Cola and the other being Frito-Lay. At that time they also shortened the name Pepsi-Cola to PepsiCo. Along with Frito-Lay joining the PepsiCo team, Quaker Oats joined as well in 2000 (The Pepsi Store, 2013).
             Profits.
             With Frito-Lay and Quaker Oats coming together with PepsiCo, this is when PepsiCo became a multimillion dollar company with bringing in revenue of over $510 million and now employed over 19,000 people. A mild-stone was reached by Pepsi-Co in 1980 when they were named the number one brand by The Take Home market. Not long after reserving that title Pepsi-Co reported hitting one billion in sales in 1990 (PepsiCo, 2013). With PepsiCo now being in four different global categories that break down into being, PepsiCo American Beverage, Pepsi-Co American Foods, PepsiCo Europe and also Pepsi-CO Asia. With large sales continue to soar and by 2012 PepsiCo has totaled revenue of over $65.5 billion. The company is now functioning in over 200 countries and has more than 285,000 employees. PepsiCo and all its hard work and with a revenue of this amount, PepsiCo has made a profit of $9.6 billion. PepsiCo now has 22 brands and with each of these brands they are bring in over $1billion in sales each year. With these numbers in sales this makes PepsiCo one of the largest growing companies to date (PepsiCo, 2013).
             Brands.
             Breakfast Bars, Coffee Drinks, Energy Drinks, Cereal, Rice Snacks, Side Dishes, Snacks, Soft Drinks, Sports Nutrition. These are just a few of the most popular brands that had made PepsiCo what it is today. PepsiCo has always taking such pride in their brands. Part of their mission states" PepsiCo's responsibility is to continually improve all aspects of the world in which we operate-environment, social, economic-creating a better tomorrow than today.
