Poaching - Animal Depletion and Extinction

It is not getting any better and they are making more rules to resume selling ivory:.
Recent changes to the ivory ban, known as the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES), have allowed southern African nations, where elephants are more abundant, to resume selling ivory. That opens the door for poachers elsewhere in Africa to sell tusks to buyers who keep questions to a minimum. The changes also allow certain countries to buy ivory, including China, where a booming middle class has fostered a seemingly bottomless demand for luxury items like ivory that had long been out of reach (Frey 2).
These laws are not making the environment any safer for the community of the animal kingdom. What they are now endorsing is basically a death threat to all animals in that region. The threat of living in an environment that has no remorse for the extension of these wonderful creatures. Africa is not the only place that has a booming poaching industry, china is just as booming with the selling of ivory. .
China participates in fueling the illegal trade in Africa. China holds the world's largest market for illicit elephant tusks. The ivory not only comes from elephants but comes from other species as well. The value of the ivory is causing an uprising in Central Africa. Hunters are treating this ivory industry as if it is a drug trafficking situation. They smuggle the ivory from place to place and using their own private airline transportation to import and export the "goods". The trafficking taking place is becoming known as "one of the biggest conduits for illegal ivory in the world" says Swanson of The Washington Post. China is known to be one of the hugest smuggling forces in the world due to trader Chen Buzhong from China. Recent successes by private investigators lead to the capturing of Chen Buzhong, thus triggering Trader Chen Buzhong to be sentenced to 15 years in prison in 2013 for bringing nearly 8.
