Profiling Serial Killers

Stresses may include things such as finances, job status, and relations with others. In contrast to organized serial killers, are the disorganized killers. Individuals who are classified as disorganized are classified by Canter (2004) to be incapable of social interaction. This group of serial killers are psychopathic and commit crimes with no remorse. The crimes committed by these killers are greatly in contrast to the organized killers. Their crimes are seen to be more spontaneous in nature and according to Canter (2004) are sudden and scenes will be left disastrous rather than being picked up after completion.
Knowing of both organized and unorganized killers leads into the crimes of the mixed serial killer. Mixed serial killers according to Canter (2004) are those killers that begin with an organized crime. After the crime has started to be executed in leads into disorganization, this disorganization may be the cause of the victim interfering with plans. Mixed crime may also be reached due to social interaction from persons uninvolved with the crime. These classifications of serial killers can lead us to come to conclusions about the mental state of various serial killers. Knowing simple facts about the cases of John Wayne Gacy, Richard Trenton Chase, and Jeffery Dahmer and with a little research, I have come to conclusions about the mental states of all three men whilst they committed their crimes and before they committed them.
I have always had a huge interest in serial killers and one in particular was John Wayne Gacy. I am unsure why my fascination was lead to him, but it always was. One thing that strikes me with Gacy is that everyone has wonderful stories about the man he was before the killing took place. There are photos of a young Gacy looking to be a normal individual with high expectations in life. My prior knowledge of Gacy amongst the information being held about organized killers leads me to believe that Gacy was definitely an organized killer.
